First, ask the person to sit properly or comfortably, tell him to hold his breath and give him a drink. If this method didn’t worked, put a paper bag (plastic bag isn’t recommended) over his nose and mouth and ask him to breathe. Observe the person, if his hiccups persist for more than an hour, then it is already suggested to seek help from a medical professional.
