Back
pain is one of the most common complaints that people make at the end of a long
day, which isn’t surprising given the amount of work that we do. This is pretty
normal especially when you’ve been sitting around for hours without stretching
your back or your limbs, or you have strained your back muscles when lifting
something up. Whatever it is that is causing your back to twinge, the goal here
is to alleviate the discomfort. Is there any way for you to prevent or treat
back pain?
Always eat right
Prevention is always better to finding a cure, and in the case
of back pain, it would be a good idea to reconsider your diet, since weight
gain can add unnecessary strain on your back. Eating foods that are way too
salty or spicy can affect your back, so if you want to save yourself from back
pain, going for healthier food options is much better. Not only will these
foods deliver nutrients, but they will also help you keep at a reasonable
weight that will not make your back twinge.
Sleep on your side
Your sleeping position at night may contribute to the aches and
pains that you feel the following day. And if you are one of those who have a
back ache in the morning, you might want to reconsider sleeping on your side.
Side sleeping removes the pressure on your spine. If you are a back sleeper,
one way to alleviate the back pain is to place another pillow under your knees
to keep it elevated, and to bring your spine to its natural curve. If you will
be sleeping on your side, place a pillow between your legs so that your spine
will be naturally straight.
Strength train
If you wish to protect yourself from an aching back, it is
always a good idea to incorporate strength training in your daily routine.
Strength training not only strengthens your muscles, but also teach you the
correct posture that will help steady your spine. This should be part of your
training as it helps you stay healthy all the time.
Stretch
All the hours that we are sitting in front of our computer can
take a toll on our spine which is why it is a good idea to take a break and
relax those tight muscles by stretching. Stretching provides relieve from the
tense muscles so there will be less back ache to deal with.
